Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department

Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department new fire station built on 4.2 acres of land at 101 Sunset Boulevard, Ridgely MD.

When the Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department outgrew their downtown Ridgely location, we were honored to be hired to work with their team to design a fully-functional, state-of-the-art, 20,000 fire station including 6 fire department bays an additional bay for Caroline County Emergency Services.

What We Did.

Our Team at Bob Breeding General Contractors (BBGC) did the design, build, and general contracting for the new Ridgely Fire Department building. We worked within the tight budget to provide a working design with the functionality they desired. Our work began almost 2 years before construction commenced. We managed the work, contracts, subcontractors as well as attended numerous meetings with the town before, during, and after the building’s construction.

The Result.

New construction relocation Ridgely into the new full-service fire station. Approx. 20,000 sq ft building consisting of 6 bays
for the fire department and addition for Caroline County Department of Emergency Services EMS. The final building
included a large training room, kitchen, banquet room, and bunks.

The structure was a pre-engineered Star Building Systems® building product and features complete WiFi and a full
sprinkler system.

The flooring for the building was of particular importance to the Fire Department. It had to be perfectly level within very
tight tolerances and prepared to receive the final protective coating for the floor.

On the day the town of Ridgely celebrated its 150th anniversary, The Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department had a
ribbon-cutting ceremony including dinner, local politicians, and a parade of trucks to the new station.
